Abstract
Este artículo indaga de qué modo el estado eclesiástico, en sus ramas secular y regular, accedió a la propiedad de bienes inmuebles en la jurisdicción de San Miguel de Tucumán, durante el período colonial, entendiendo que la mayor parte de la tierra productiva de la zona se encontraba en manos de consagrados. Privilegiamos el estudio de las modalidades de acceso a la tierra en los siglos XVII y XVIII por la relativa abundancia de fuentes, que provienen mayormente del Archivo Histórico
de la Provincia de Tucumán. Con este trabajo aspiramos a un mejor conocimiento del desenvolvimiento de la iglesia tucumana durante la dominación hispánica.
This article investigates how the ecclesiastical state, in its secular and regular branches, accessed the ownership of real estate in the jurisdiction of San Miguel de Tucumán, during the colonial period, understanding that most of the productive land in the area was in the hands of consecrated persons. We privilege the study of the modalities of access to land in the 17th and 18th centuries due to the relative abundance of sources, which come, mainly, from the Historical Archive of the Province. With this work we aspire to a better understanding of the development of the Tucumán church during the Hispanic domination.
